As if the name doesn’t already tell you, this place is killer! Balls and Glory is an absolute must eat when visiting Ghent!
We stumbled upon Balls and Glory our first time to Ghent, and have since been back three different times. Each time living up to our first experience with the balls! Yes, we’ve been back three times. And for us, that’s huge. We have a rule of not going back to a place more than once because typically you leave disappointed, but not at Balls and Glory. Every. Single. Trip. has been amazing, and we’re certain your trip there will be too!

What Exactly Are The Balls?
The “Balls” are the traditional Belgian delicacy of meatballs, but with a twist! They’re absolutely massive meatballs stuffed with mouthwatering sauces. Each sauce inside the ball is paired to match the meat, and just this alone is to die for but paired with the stoemp (the “glory” below) and the two types of gravy on top – there’s nothing better!
And don’t worry about not having choices, there are three to four different kinds of meatballs on offer each day, even including a vegetarian one!
And How About The Glory?
So totally not the real meaning of glory in their name, but it’s ours…. the stoemp! Each meatball at Balls and Glory is served with either salad or stoemp. And let us tell you, stoemp is where it’s at. It’s again another Belgian delicacy of mashed potatoes with veggies mixed in.
Think super soft carrot bits in every bite of potato… topped with two types of gravy. Again…. Nothing better! Even if you’re on one of those health food diets, you’ve got to get the stoemp!
Drinks At Balls And Glory
As if Balls and Glory couldn’t get any better… they serve our all-time favorite beer – La Chouffe on tap. And for those non-beer drinkers, they have homemade lemonade in a variety of infused flavors, and even offer free water on the tables. Something not so common in Europe, but such a lovely touch! They’ve really got it all covered!
A Bit Of Background On Balls And Glory
Balls and Glory started out as a small shop in Ghent and has since grown to have multiple restaurants in Belgium and a mobile food truck too. What started out as a way to bring people together no matter the weather, has morphed into restaurants in four major Belgian cities all keeping the same unique flavor and experience Balls and Glory give, yet catering to each of the city’s vibes!
