Heather’s Expertise
Heather studied education in college, receiving her degree from Western Oregon University in Education, gaining her Oregon teaching license with an ESOL certificate and focus in mathematics.
While earning her degree, Heather did a three-month teaching internship in Africa, gaining a greater perspective of life outside of the United States. This internship fueled Heather’s desire to combine her teaching with travel. At that point, it was unknown how.
Once she started traveling with her husband in 2014, a blog, originally created to inform family and friends of a United States Road Trip and a journey backpacking through South America, turned into ArboursAbroad LLC — a company designed to help people live life differently.
In over a decade of nearly non-stop travel, Heather has visited 39 different countries, calling five of them home, and has seen nearly 40/50 of the United States!
