Jason’s Expertise

I am a well-versed traveler. I took my first international trip in 2011 while still in undergrad. During this trip, I visited Greece, Italy, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Russia, Belgium, Ireland, France, and Tanzania. I learned a lot about travel in those 5 months abroad, which has still stuck with me.

In total, I have visited 41 different countries, lived in five, and owned a vehicle in two.

I received my master’s degree in physiotherapy in Scotland at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Despite placing my physical therapy career on hold and potentially indefinitely; I have learned a lot of valuable skills from that time in higher education, which I believe is facilitating me in my current career of being a professional photographer, blog copywriter, and webmaster/SEO specialist.

While in PT school, the most valuable skill I learned was how to learn. Therefore, by bringing that skill into my current roles, I can become an expert in anything I put my time and energy into. Ultimately making me an expert in travel and landscape photography, an expert in review articles, and skilled in webmaster/SEO for ArboursAbroad.

The success of ArboursAbroad is in its beautifully crafted visual storytelling, monthly viewership, and recent blog awards are all testaments to my expertise in photography, writing, and behind-the-scenes website development.

However, this is not all possible without my co-founder and wife, Heather who takes on the bulk of the website copy, SEO research, and content planning.
