It’s crazy what a city can bring. For the first 11 months living in Scotland, we never visited Edinburgh. We always fancied exploring the nature side of Scotland more, and still to this day would choose nature over city any chance we get, however… we were so surprised how quaint little Edinburgh can be.
We won’t lie, the main reason we first visited Edinburgh was due to ultra-discounted tickets with Scotrail, and wanting to experience the Edinburgh Christmas Markets, so we went. But the city surprised us, and left us wanted to explore more, without all the Christmas crazy.
So we found ourselves visited Edinburgh a handful more times, sometimes just sitting up at Calton Hill watching the city flash by, other times bringing visitors to the city, and of course, we made a trip to see the Edinburgh Castle while we had a rainy day! Check out what the city of Edinburgh has to offer in the wee video below, and don’t forget to take a look at the visiting Edinburgh travel article below to get ideas on a few extra places we didn’t film!

Our first trip to Edinburgh was back in 2016, and at that point, we hadn’t started videoing our travels, (I know, what a shame, right!?).. so be sure to take a look at these other Edinburgh posts to get more of an idea what to see in the city!
